My wife Arlene and I owned a 3,100 square foot home in the "Deep Creek " area of Port Charlotte for fourteen years . We are senior citizens and after all those years , were weary of the demands that it took to keep up the house and grounds . So we finally decided to sell the place , and move into something smaller that would be easier to take care of . Even though the market was down at the time , we were fortunate in being able to find a buyer for the house .

As it turned out we found an elegant apartment down in "Charlotte Harbor" .We moved into the new apartment shortly after that , and lived there for six months . Actually it was quite a change for us , after owning our own home for so many years . There were now a lot of rules to follow , people coming and going at all hours of the night , and I missed working with the different types of palm trees and the many kinds of flowers that grow so well in this climate .

It was at that point we talked to our Real Estate Agent , Brian Finkle of Coast Properties . We told him that we were a little disenchanted with the move we had made to "apartment living" , and wondered if he could find a house for us that would fit our particular needs ?  From the very beginning he was most helplful, courteous , and knowledgeable too , about what was available on todays market , including who was offering the best rates of interest . We indicated that we wanted a modestly sized house and yard , a place that was fairly new , and most importantly , something within our budget, as far as downpayment and monthly mortgage installments .

He quickly went to work and found some potentially good prospects for us to look at , then took us on a "walk through" of each place . He showed us through seven or eight houses, and out of that group we found and purchased a house that suited our needs perfectly and were able to reduce our monthly expenses by over $300.00 from even what we were spending on rent, let alone cutting our expenses in half from our old home. Living on a fixed income, this was a very pleasant surprise, which has added a new quality of life for us now.  We were very impressed with Brian's professional ethics and "can do" attitude as well, and would highly recommend him to anyone who is thinking about buying a home
